The M3 does not come with Run-Flat tires.

It does not matter what the dealer or sales associate told you. The M3 does not have run-flats.

This misinformation seems like it just will not die, so I'm posting it as a sticky.

I thought so too. But when it came up again for the umpteenth time yesterday, I said, "That's it, enough is enough, I'm making it a sticky."

Good call on the sticky thread Ben.

I've run across at least half a dozen owners who think they're runflats, including an "expert" who was hanging around the fall-line paddock at the June Sprints this year. Not to mention all the potential owners and other enthusiasts who have it wrong.

No shame in it, you're far from alone. If it weren't for the guys selling the car telling people the wrong info, this meme would have been dead years ago.

WTF.. I was at a dealership today and the salesperson made a big deal about how the car has run-flats, etc. Wow...

It is amazing that they are still putting this mis-information out there with the car having been out for several years now.

You'd think the dealerships...or even BMW in general...would take some initiative to make sure their sales people know what they're talking about.

I had this exact same discussion with the guy doing my paperwork, the day I picked mine up, when he was trying to pitch the wheel/tire care package..."Those run flat tires aren't cheap. You're gonna want to have something like this"..."My car doesn't have run flats"..."Yes it does"..."No, it doesn't"..."Yes, it sure does"..."Uh, no dude, it doesn't".
No matter how many times I said it didn't...he insisted it did. I finally gave up and just said "Ok, whatever".

Agree, but this is counterproductive. Most people skip over stickys.

What we should do is unsticky it, and just keep bumping it to the top every 30 minutes.

I wish they would use the same logic on the other 3's and leave them run flat free.

You should've told the sales guy who misinformed you about RFTs that he needs a new job!

It is amazing that the BMW service guys even think all BMW's have run flat tires. I had this issue on my 08' 550, and the dealership paid for my rim and tire since I drove it to the dealership and it ruined the rim. I want to double check, but I think the window sticker specifies run flats as well on the M3. Unfortunately, I hit a pot hole last night and to no big surprise, it blew the OEM M. Pilot PS2. I just got off the phone arguing with the service guy that not all BMW have run flat tires. Seems they have some responsibility here. I was in the market for a new set of wheels and tires anyways, but this sucks. If it is posted on the window sticker and the sales guys sell it, I believe BMW has some liability. Any one else have any experience with this?
