Option 6NR requirements - what a mess

What good is a new convertible before early April here anyway

My "new" car is already behind on technology and it's on its way here.

Welcome to the Week 9/10 Club.

So got my final order sheet from the dealer today. It had 6NF , I did not request that option but they still added it in. I just added the Bluetooth option recently and that option also got added in ?

My dealer was told by a factory rep that 6nr can be ordered for march production on the m3. They said there is an ordering system problem with the way dealers order cars (dealerspeed) and can be fixed by calling it in.

I own a E93 - 335i from mai 2010, with every thing on board what it makes possible to upgrade my combox, i thought.

Yesterday i had a telefoncall with BMW Munich.
Had to give the chassisnr. etc.
Could not say it directly, but 1 hour later i was called back.

The told me that an upgrade was absolutly impossible.
Only new cars had it.
New hardware (combox etc.) was also not possible.

Buy a new BMW. Than you have it ...........

Same here. Do not know price, it may still show BLOCKED. My guess is at least the $150 SP Integration option price and then maybe a small amount more. The UK pricing has it at like around $220 US, I think.

I can confirm, as my previous email, this new optional extra will be released as a software update, which you will be able to purchase from your local or preferred BMW Approved Dealership.* However, please be aware that the BMW 1 Series Coupe and Convertible will be the first vehicles to have this feature installed at production.* At this present time, we do not have any timescales or release dates for the software update.* However, this will communicated via our dealerships and the bmw.co.uk website.

Considering i just went 150 today, it's nice to hear. Time will tell - I just couldn't wait.

Mine was a week 6 build. Only 3 weeks off. Maybe we will get lucky and have the software anyway?

My Week 11 Production has been updated to reflect 6NR now.

What does "Blocked" mean? It doesn't sound promising.

Means the option is part of the build but pricing is not available yet. Had the same thing happen on my Sept '10 build car and the new Combox...

That is my understanding as well. It should be a "N/C" item if 6NF (Smartphone Integration) is selected.

So there is no additional charge now for 6NR? I was led to believe it would be the price of SP Integration ($150) as well as a charge for the Apps functionality since it now includes 6NF. Would be nice if you are right, but I was told to expect an additional charge.

6NR replaces 6NF -BMW stated that in their press release- so expect no price increase.

Please be advised that adding option 6NR to any vehicle will automatically add Smartphone Integration (6NF) without an additional charge. 6NF will no longer be available as a standalone option

I had read that as it now includes 6NF hardware but without the separate charge, which will cease to exist as a separate option. Given their capitalistic tenancies, I figured that 6NR's additional cost would now include that required hardware option in its total cost as opposed to require ordering it as a required option.

You are probably correct.

You are probably correct.

They are going to get us with the 6NR snap in adapter prices, though.

Added the 6NR on my March production M3 E93 today...its confirmed by the factory reps but price still shows blocked...

Update:

6NR will be $250.

It will not be retrofit capable in the US until further notice.

I hope this helps. I have too many customers with ordered vehicles (and delivered) waiting to hear an update, so I got word from BMW.
