Voulez-vous documenter le processus de synchronisation sur vidéo? Tout ce que j'ai vu jusqu'à présent est en allemand ou mal tourné. J’ai l’ISTA mais j’apprends beaucoup mieux visuellement.

Il semble donc que le ressort n’ait pas assez baissé la valve pour grenader quoi que ce soit. a marche pour toi

Je suppose que le système SAP sera nettoyé trop oui? Ce serait dommage de rafraîchir tout le reste sans passer par là.

Oui. Dieu merci, il n'a pas baissé. Cela aurait été game over.
J'ai l'impression que la valve est pliée parce que je peux le voir accroché. Je vais remplacer le ressort et sceller et faire un test de fuite. Si cela fuit trop, je vais tirer les têtes et rafraîchir toutes les vannes.

Looks like you dodged a bullet. Yeah hopefully the damage is minimal. I’m sure she’ll be mint when you’re done.

I’ve always been curious about doing springs without pulling the engine entirely. I’ve seen a few videos on swapping springs and refreshing valve seals on N62s. Nothing on our cars though. Maybe I haven’t looked in the right places.

I think that’s what he meant when he said this….”Clean Exhaust Ports (SAI)”. SAI:Secondary Air Injection. I just did this with the engine in and it was a suuuuuuper fun job!

Aaah yes I see, it looks like a fresh hell if the engine isn’t pulled. Yikes.

In my case I didn’t have the 3g’s to have the dealer do it. A few vacuum fittings on some hose, 1 can of Seafoam per side and a gun bore cleaner worked out for me! The clogged side was evident when I pushed my endoscope through to look prior to any cleaning.

Everything is easy with the engine out!

The broken spring put a groove into the bore. Wondering if it will be a problem?

What codes were you getting from the broken spring? This is nightmare fuel for me.

It would go into limp mode and then die. Only codes I got were misfire codes. The whole bank 2 (cyl 5,6,7,8)
I would describe it as a huge vacuum leak. At first that’s what I thought it was. No big deal…lol!

Crankshaft is coming out soon. Curious to see the condition of the Main Bearings. Engine has 130k miles. Will post pics!

Were you able to put the engine back together yet? Any issues with the groove caused by the broken spring?

Working on the bottom end right now.
The groove shouldn’t be a problem according to the people I’ve been talking to. They said just to hit it smooth with a bit, then polish it smooth.

It’s not that bad. It’s a great engine design, very Motorsport! Design DNA and simplicity of engineering is amazing.
