Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think your issue is with BMWNA and NOT with BMW AG per say.
I can assure you that the BMW Company is an outstanding organization if it would not be then the German Government would have long seen to it to have them before the courts or close there doors.
I do think BMW AG Germany should conduct more quality assurance checks to make sure that the interests of there company are properly represented. Then issues like you have experienced or I would not occur that often.
I know what I am talking abut, you see this picture below it cost me $1000- including the accomudation and expenses I laid out while waiting for a replacement wheel during my vacation trip.
The US Dealership told me that since my car is a Canadian car the warrenty will not apply once I returned to Canada I dealt with BMW Customer Relations in Canada and the USA for 6 months. The people I dealt with shoved me from one spot to the next. In my view all uninformed and inexperienced people. Including the so called BMW Technical Representative that finnaly examined this wheel here in Canada and declared it bend. Totally ignoring the fact that 2 mechanics in the USA Tire shop removed the stiff RFT from this soft alloy wheel.
Yes we do come across some inexperiance individuals, still it does not justify to condemn the company as a whole. BMWNA yes BMW AG I don't think so.
Anyway my humble opinion on this issue.
PS.
I still like to (and I will on my next trip to München Germany) take this issue of my $1,000- wheel hanging in my garage up with an upper management BMW representative. I guess I am the only one on my street if not in this town having a BMW wheel aiding as a garden hose storage.
