I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the members of this great forum. I read a ton of the posts featured here over the past several months, and the information was extremely helpful in making my decision to make my next toy an M3. A special thanks to my friend Nick, who answered countless one-off questions and was a huge help!

Earlier today I took possession of my 2013 E92 in Jet Black with manual transmission. Although I am strictly adhering to the advice regarding breaking in the engine (no RPMs above 3500-4000, etc), I am already absolutely loving this car. For those of you interested, the car has the following:

- Jet Black
- Black Novillo Leather
- ZCP Competition Package
- ZCW Cold Weather Package
- ZPP Premium Package
- 403 Moonroof
- 4MY Carbon Leather interior trim
- Sat radio
- BMW Apps
- Enhanced Premium Sound

If anyone has any advice as to how to properly break this baby in, I am all ears. I bought it and hope to own it for many, many years, so any advice to ensure I treat 'er right is much appreciated.

Thanks again to all of you!
Welcome and Congrats fellow Tri-stater! Can't give any tips for break in other than...good luck with that hehe.
Thanks! Yes, having to keep the foot off the pedal could be considered an "enhanced interrogation method" by some (certainly by me).
Congratulations! Nice pick with the 6MT. Any mods planned?

As for break-in, do a search of the topic and you'll find every opinion on this subject.
Congrats! Post some pics!
Thanks -- I'll do some reading on that now. No meaningful mods planned yet. I'll do some reading on that as well. Minor items: I am going to replace the stock grill with the blacked out version, and later on in the year might look to put a more aggressive exhaust on the car (though I am pleasantly surprised by the stock version). Oh, and I have my existing 9500xi radar detector (from my 2009 Corvette -- now sold) that I will likely hard-wire into the M3.
Nice choice:thumsup:
Congrats!
Sorry I don't have good pics yet. Here is one quick one from the iPhone.

Congrats man! Way to go with the 3 pedal set up!
congrats =)
Congrats and welcome. Now get out there and work off those break-in miles!
yoohoo! nice car and congrats!
Here's a tip - make for certain they change your diff and MT fluid along with the 1200 mile service, many dealers neglect to do this, and claim on the transmission it is a lifetime fluid. It is a lifetime fluid - for the DCT version of the M3, not the 6MT.
Congrats and welcome:party0030:
Welcome. Enjoy the ride!
Congrats! 6MT? A man after my own heart. :D

Mods? Clear bra will spare your eyes from looking at the inevitable swirls.

Enjoy and drive safely.
Congrats. Another CT M3 owner. I rarely see M3s in CT. I drive 50 miles round trip daily and have only seen one other M3.
Congratulation ... Safe travels always!

As for the break in to 1200 miles and after that to around 4000 miles check on line for the electronic manuals (main and the sub for your car) it has great info for you on that issue and maintenance etc.

Example ... When I had to do the 2000 KM (1200 mile) first inspection on my former M3 with MT the SA at the time wanted to convince me that my MT does not require an oil change ... Pulling up the Break in section of the electronic manual proved otherwise ... That waste end of the argument. Great stuff to have handy on your Smartphone, iPad or iPhone.
Congrats! Great build. Do a search on the break ins. Drive on as mny hilld as you can find to loosen the engine. Safe drive!
Enjoy it and stay safe! Let the obsession begin :D
