Brembo Caliper on stock rotor

I have had the kit on for 3200 miles.

I first thought I had air in the system and bleed the system a total of times starting from the back and also using a pressure bleeder.

Each time I bleed I had about 100 miles of use between them.

Also remember these are brand new ecs rotors. Measuring the rotor won’t matter as the top has been wearing from over 3200 miles of use. I can put back the oem rotor and see if I get the same noise that way we can rule that out.

Doesn't matter if new could be defective

measure the ecs rotor or put back the stock rotor and give it a light coat of flat black acrylic paint, just a slight dusting to check the wear pattern

Also I would ask you to look at this photo and look at how the rotor is offset so far on the outside

dont worry about the offset, check the distance between the pistons and rotor

it could be just a casting issue

The distance you need to worry about is between the piston and rotor.

After reading through tons of pages, the general consensus is that the front are working out pretty well with noticably less issues than the rear. Can anyone with just front upgrade s chime in your your experience. Just brake feel and stopping power for just the front. I'm due for front brake overhaul new pads and rotors and new lines and a kit minus rotors for $1500-1800 sounds mighty temping.

For about $2175, you can get a Stoptech ST40 kit with braided lines, pads, and hatted rotors that is lighter than stock and should stop just as well or better. Cost is less than the refurbished Brembo kit with new stock rotors.

New, not refurbished. Lightweight 2 piece rotors with replaceable rings. And designed to fit the rotor perfectly. Cost is a little more than the refurbished Brembo rotor kit with new stock size stock calipers.

If you just bought new rotors and are now looking at a BBK, the refurbished Brembo kit is worth a look. The other company selling new Corvette Brembos that are machined to fit adapters and use stock rotors is also worth a look.

it's little bit strange to compare different (very different!) size brakes.

you need to compare 4 pot stoptech kit with oem brake system, they are on the same level.

and, to compare 6 pot stoptech caliper, you can check pads dimensions - it has 152mm brake pads. it's closer to 4 pot brembo (132mm length), than 6 pot brembo, with huge 190mm pads.

8 pot brembo has 2x 95mm pads, which is almost the same as 190mm 6 pot pads.

I checked out M3boost's video on these and it seems as though there were unsolved issues and he has the newer version 2 rears so not sure if these concerns have been addressed yet?

Mine is a version 2. No issues with mine at the moment

Mine are amazing, but I use F80 rotors in the front with the Slonik kit.

Absolutely no regrets after lots of track time.

Hi everyone!

I`m also user of AK Motorsport Brembo big brake kit in E92 M3. I should soon replace front pads and sensors. Problem is that I don`t know which pad sensors I should buy? As you know, brake pads are from Audi, so connectors are not suitable to BMW. I tried to get answer from Albert, but he just sent me part numbers for original BMW pad sensors, and those will not fit to Brembo pad.

Sensors are 2 wire and can be cut and spliced if you cannot find a direct fit sensor.

Any user updates?

Yup...still tracking the hell outta my AK Motorsport front and rear kit. Nothing but good things to say years later!
