Richneerd wroteSounds like a recipe for needing to replace catalytic converters.Drive like a grandma, change RB every 50k miles, the car will out last you!
That’s what I’m going for!
bmwpower603 wroteI agree!Sounds like a recipe for needing to replace catalytic converters.
You won’t get the moisture out if you drive like a grandma. These engines like to be driven with purpose.
If you replace with BE bearings. And change your spark plugs every 15k miles. I don’t see the need to do the rod bearings ever again TBH.

PTRAN wroteI don’t know ask bill gates. He made the virus, and has also made the vaccine. Funny how that works. What's the Rod Bearing /covid survival rate? 99.7%?
M3drop wroteAsk to see the crank and bearings ...UPDATE!!!! Just got a call from the Stealership... They are saying it was a fuel injector failure and that caused the engine to blow.... Warranty does not cover the fuel injector they say.... I'm calling bullshit... I will be going down to the Stealership tomorrow and figure this all out... I know I spun a bearing, but have not had a confirmation from a BMW technician regarding what has happened.
Does anyone know if that's even possible (fuel injector failure will blow the engine)??!??!?!! When my engine blew it was driving just fine... then all of a sudden limp mode and dead engine...
HELP!?!?!?!?!
SYT_Shadow wroteExcept if that vocal ... they would never come back and admit their engines blew ... they will just melt away and never be heard from again ....We should have a poll or something where the people who think the rod bearings are a conspiracy put their names. It would provide more entertainment when it blows
