Been a minute since I've checked in here. I've been crazy busy, thankfully. All good things.

But today I was finally able to get a proper stable for the ///M. No more subterranean garages. Oh, and the garage came with a house, too!

I'll turn this space into a car paradise eventually. Pressure washer setup and shop lighting will be first.

Tried to quickly change my Dinan filter...

Fiberglass for the win I guess.

5 minute job... 🤦*♂️

I have actually had a good number of small items come it over the last week, and one big item I was very happy to see. Finally got a chance to install my Induktiv wireless charger in the car, and thus far works fantastic! Easy install and works flawlessly with all of my families phones.

Next dropped in some new M Performance floor mats and reasonably happy about the fit. These are not for the E9x platform but for the F87 M2, and though not a perfect fit all the way around they are close enough and I am loving the new look.

Lastly, got in the QuickJack and got it fully setup and found a good place in the garage to store it. Works like a champ and will undoubtedly see a lot of action in the future.

With the Harrop coming next month (hopefully!!) I am planning a few while-you're-in-there items so gotta start ordering that stuff this coming week.

Nice! Any long term review of the M4 seats? Are they as comfortable as the stock E9xM seats? I love everything about my stock seats except the way they look.
Few days late, but I went to a Track Night event at VIR:

I had an f80 ZCP for 4 years and e92 seats are much more comfortable. A ton more ass padding for bony asses. Plus if you are below 5'9" or above 6'2" you will hate that they don't have adjustable thigh support. The are way better looking though.
Not M3 related, but still bmw.

Changed out the front and rear brake pads as well with a wash on the double R.

I got tired of cleaning them out after my second set, just went with durable Weather tech Matts for my car. Do miss the M logo though.
I replaced the WeatherTech emblem with these. They also offer BMW, M3, or M Performance variants: https://www.etsy.com/listing/868238011/gel-domed-emblem-sticker-decal-insert?variation0=1539373609

I've had all 3 factory wheels in my car. The M performance, M performance electronic, and the standard oem wheel. The M performance wheels are actually a small bit thinner than the standard leather wheel.
I'm usually a big proponent of OEM+, but this is another reason I love my Coby wheel over the performance options, it feels much thicker.
Thanks for this. I got myself a set and they look nice. The Weathertech logo was gone on the passenger side and the adhesive was goopy on the driver side so it was coming off anyways.

Great video. That takes me back. Haven't been since 2006. RIP oak tree. Hoping to go back in the E92 ASAP.
What the heck is on the idrive screen? Is that some M3 feature that I'm unaware of? Would love to know if that's an aftermarket upgrade or something I already have.
New Aza wheel installed. This is my 4th wheel on this car - stock/Coby/Mashimarho/Aza - this one is the best. U get what u pay for.

Took care of quite a few items on my to-do list in the last few weeks. Not a ton of pictures though since time was limited. Smaller things included Oil change, MT oil changed with Redline MTL, and replaced both upstream O2 sensors (was getting errors).

As for the big things, installed the Ultimate Clutch Pedal and the Carsara CarPlay box.

Short review of the UCP: Holy Moly! What a massive improvement. Any 6MT drivers who haven’t installed this pedal need to do so right away. Installed mine in the standard bolt position but without the larger over-center spring. Might try some other combos later on, we’ll see. But the car is so much more direct and comfortable to drive. Four stars. Joe Bob says: check it out.

Short review of the Carsara box: Really well done and far, far better than the Android unit I previously installed in my E60. Feels about as close to stock CarPlay as I’m likely to get in this car. Only complaint so far is that the phone gets a bit warm when wireless CarPlay is running, but that might be in combination with the Induktiv mat. I hadn’t noticed this immediately after install, but it’s become apparent in the past week or so. More testing is needed, but I might need to choose one or the other.

do you get consistent charging? I just got one of these and fitted it (nice simple job) but it only occasionally charges any of my family's phones (i-phone, galaxy, oneplus and pixel 4), on my pixel it just puts up a message saying to reposition it. It's not fussy on any other charger. Not impressed so far.
See my last post above. It seemed OK at first, but over the last few drives I’ve noticed an issue. No complaints about position, and the phone indicates that it’s charging, but it never actually picks up any more charge. The percentage just stays the same.

My most recent drive was nearly an hour. I didn’t lose charge; I didn’t gain charge. I’m curious if it’s related to the new wireless CarPlay setup or not, and will be doing some testing soon. Suffice it to say I’ve become less satisfied with the Induktiv solution. If the company can’t solve it, I know between wireless charging and CarPlay which I’ll be sticking with.

It's the M Laptimer app that is part of iDrive on CIC models ("BMW Apps"). My MY2012 has it and it integrates with this: https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/magazine-article-pool/the-bmw-m-laptimer-app.html

FWIW, that's exactly the behavior I get with stock carplay + charging mat on my F97. May be a carplay or iPhone issue in general.
