That’s what I think too. I’ll keep my set since I’ll need them anyway.

Now to tackle this oil leak. I think oil filter housing gasket based on searching around the forum.

Man I tried but I couldn’t get the old mounts out. Passenger side was pretty close but still couldn’t quite pry it out. Had bolts backed out until there was a thread or two hanging and engine lifted about as high as I could get it. Drivers side didn’t even look close to being able to wiggle out. Good news is the current mounts seem okay? No cracks or leaks.
Bro I was in the same boat as you. What i did to win the fight is take out the 2 smaller bolts at the rear, then took out the remaining 3 one at a time and screwed them in about 2 full turns and jacked upon the motor. This is the important part..... Say a prayer to the BMW gods, tell them a lie....like you will never rev to redline or something then I took a 2x4 and put it on the sub frame near the mounts and taped it with a hammer until i saw the subframe moving downward and was resting on the loose bolts. Then I got under the car and pulled down the subframe where the smaller bolts were with one hand and wiggled it out. The passenger side came out the wheel well, the drivers side went out front at the steering rack. I put the new ones in the same way i took the older ones out. I hope that helps the next time you try.

I thought it was pretty well documented at this point that MPE is awesome with stock X-pipe and pretty bad with just about anything else. It's a real shame too because I'd love that combo myself.
If you were interested I would still give it a try. I run an mpe with test pipes currently and while on the raspy end I think it sounds phenomenal. Definitely one of the more unique sounding exhausts out there.
Put the 12.5mm spacers back on the front. And double checked the hardware securing my mporium under tray.

Yeah I just watched a video popping out the gills on an E90. Looks really easy to snap something or scratch a fender.
I wouldn't worry too much about snapping something. There are too many tabs on the e90 vent in my opinion. Pain to get out. I snapped one tab, and that mofo is solid AF when I put it back in.

Almost two years ago, a few weeks into M3 ownership I attempted to drive forward out of my driveway.....in reverse. I've been living with a dented trunk lid and bumper cover ever since. After a number of false starts, parts destroyed in shipping, and balking at what now comes off as a reasonable shop estimate, I've got the bumper and trunk lid replaced. I went with the F80 black M3 emblem and I've got the carbon fiber roundel here, on the hood, and all the wheels. A year ago my wife burnt her leg on the exhaust pipe, so I purchased the carbon fiber diffuser. What the hell, I'm feeling salty, so I put that on today, too.

Discerning viewers will notice that the reverse sensors look a little wonky. It's a temporary to get me on the road tomorrow. BMW must have gone through a short production run of smaller sensors because the replacement bumper holes were 4mm larger than my painted sensors. I've got trim pieces ordered that should fill the gap nicely after painting.
Changed oil, cleaned and sealed wheels, cleaned wheelwells, replaced driver front tire, inspected brakes and adjusted coilovers

That definitely sounds really good outside in that video, but for me it didn't translate well in real life especially inside the cabin.

Inside when driving the MPE/TP combo was very muted and you don't really hear the interesting notes the MPE makes much, all I heard was buzz and rasp unless I only used 1/4 throttle then it sounded okay. Have a heavy foot? Lots of rasp and buzzing inside that is quite unpleasant to listen to honestly.

I'm curious if a resonated set of test pipes will reduce the rasp on the MPE. Might be my next project.
Cleaned my interior with gliptone and then nourished the leather

are injectors still hard to get/expensive/back ordered?
I'm looking ahead to maintenance items as i'm nearing 93k miles and will be hitting 100k before the end of the year

edit - am I looking for ignition coil? is it the same thing?
There's a post somewhere that had a place selling injectors for under $30 each

Edit. $20 each

Good find but today prices just shot up to $45 each. Wtf
Bought a camera scope off Amazon. Anyone got any other tips for tracking down an oil leak?

Couple notes along with the pics I posted above.
- 116k miles
- Oil pan looks clean as rod bearings were done around the 108k mile mark
- Valve covers re-sealed at 105k (re-used valve covers, not new ones)
- Appears to be passenger side only

Looks like an awful lot of oil to be valve covers again already. I plan to eventually replace with new but not going to rush to that conclusion.

Options are, passenger side valve cover or oil filter housing gasket. Any other thoughts?

Removed my Borla ATAK and replaced it with an MPE.

The ATAK was awesome by itself but combined with test pipes it was very loud and changed the tone a bit, sounded like a GT350 which I'm not a fan of.

This is the first time I had the MPE combined with just test pipes and the sound is absolutely horrible, quiet like stock until 3k then the rasp hits and it kinda sounds like an angry duck, from 3.5K-5k it has a nice signature MPE "hollow" wail if you're half throttle, if you're full throttle it sounds wretched. A farting machine gun is what my 10 year old describes it.

Stock X-pipe/cats will be going back on tomorrow. It's unfortunate, I had high hopes for this setup after watching some youtube videos, the sound on videos definitely does not translate well to real life. :(
Get a Corsa with test pipes or x pipe.

Change my engine/motor mounts with some Powerflex mounts. My newish OE mounts were not that bad since I replaced them 20k miles ago when getting my RB done. I did notice the drivers side was starting to collapse.

As far as NVH, there is some, I feel it in my wheel at lower RPMS but not much at all and is not that noticeable. I am sure with time it will just feel normal. Also during engine breaking its a more of a jolt but not that much. Overall I am happy with them, it makes me feel a little more connected with the car. I used 2 of the 4 stiffening pins on each side.
I was thinking of using the same product next time mine need a change. I think you can use zero of the stiffening pens?

They cancelled my order. Ended up ordering someplace else for more.

I thought the fuel tank capacity was 16.2 gal or something
Filled up 16.4+ gallons

Huge difference. I just ordered the Gliptone cleaner and conditioner after seeing your results. Thanks for sharing.

How is your fuel pump doing?

Does running the tank that low mess with the fuel pump? I know it does on certain cars

Nice! When the wear comes out again its very rewarding to add some colour (used Furbiture Clinic myself) and coating. Comes out like brand and keeps better than oem.
Treated leather seats and steering wheel with gyon leather care from esoteric

Looking clean! Seeing your paint matched reflectors in the front reminds me how much better it makes the car look. I had done that on my 340 but I have an e93 in AW now and haven’t gotten around to doing that yet. Hate those stupid orange reflectors lol
