Went for a drive north of Houston. Some great roads up there which are very quiet.


Also a few weeks back I did the colourlock strong cleaner and shield treatment. Everything came up great apart from the steering wheel which i think might need some dye.

I’ve done a Sam Houston forest drive with some Houston e9x owners a few weeks ago if you’re interested in joining next time.

For sure, that'd be great!

Spent most of the day in the man cave, ceramic coating the new 359s, the MPE and some CF parts. The project took a lot of attention and time, but the result is fantastic and the new wheels will be so easy to clean!

Nooo I also have new 359s and I was thinking about ceramic coating them but then I was like it will be too much of work and it is not worthy. But as I saw your post I will need to do it also.. Thank you! Btw do you plan to coat them every season? Good job!

Since your 359s are also new, do not think about it, just do it. I used Mother's CMX Surface Prep (sprayed and then wiped with a microfiber towel, it couldn't be easier) and then applied the ceramic. I am pretty sure that in the long run I will get back the time I invested, by spending less time when washing them.

As per your question, I used the UV Graphene Ceramic Coating by Adam's which is supposed to be good for 7+ years, and I did two layers. If what I read about this product is 90% true, and given I do very low miles with the M3 (AKA my garage queen), I hope they will be good for years. The whole idea for the project was that 359s are stunning, but hard to keep pristine, so anything that makes them easier to clean is worth a chance...

PS Many people find the UV functionality of the specific coating to be just marketing gimmick, but this was not the case with me. I did my best not to cover the two lips where the balancing weights go, but inspection with the UV light revealed a few spots where the coating "slipped" under the painter's tape I used. I spoke to Adams, and they said some compound will remove it

Had the do88 cooling hardware installed. My mechanic was impressed with the build quality and exact fit.
