I have no idea why people are posting times with Iphone software here, has nothing to do with the track. If I use that software it will be telling me I am running low 11's probably close to 118.

KINGLEH, is there any chance of you posting all of the data you got from that run.
footie wroteI understand that, but the numbers should not be compared to the track. For those of us who don't have a drag strip it's a great little tool to provide some answers to how our own car is performing. I'm buying that dynolicious thing right now to prove my point.
Sticky wroteGreat, please post your figures and we might just have a little competition to see who's 'stock' car gets the best time. Though with the conditions we are experiencing at the moment I reckon I am at a disadvantage.I understand that, but the numbers should not be compared to the track.

Sticky wroteGood, then you are out of the runnings and will be up against much bigger fish.I'm not stock...

Good luck.
Sticky wroteAll depends on how you count. The DCT does not weigh 3500, you are closer to 3700.
For one DCT does not make a large difference. It adds a mere 33 lb to the car if everything else is strictly apples to apples.
My M-DCT Coupe, well equipped with no driver and 1/4 tank came out at 3549. You can see proof of this here. Obviously with a full tank and driver it would be over 3700.
Heat00 wroteOnly the magazines I beleive. R&T got 12.5s @ 114.8, see here.great time, is that manual??
has anyone run any faster than 12.7 stock??
swamp2 wroteI was going by BMW's figures as well as the numbers most major magazines get for the DCT coupe weight. Road and Track measured the DCT curb weight at 3670 this month. All depends on how you count.

DCT is heavier regardless.
As far as those with experience with the dynolicious, does it start once I start moving?
DCT creeps forward so I am wondering if that will set it off?

Sticky wrotetry it before you nok it hotshot.... the program was dead accurate on my old car... plus its been proven by a buncha folks to be within a tenth on time and a mph on trap.....I have no idea why people are posting times with Iphone software here, has nothing to do with the track. and.. i bet it wont tell u that... if u set it up the same way i did....

so u will need to keep the car stationary....
FYI the Fayetteville NC Drag strip is open every Sunday from 1PM to 5PM (weather dependent) $10 entry fee $10 to race (as many times as you want). No Helmet required for cars slower than 10's...
So if your semi local come on by!!

1. That DCT makes a big difference compared to MT, it doesn't, period.
2. That the fellow who posted his weight was incorrect. He wasn't. He was or could have been just quoting empty weight with no driver under which circumstance a 6MT M3 can be less than 3500 lb.
KINGLEH wroteTry going to a track hotshot. These meters are not the same thing, people like them because they show better numbers than they could ever achieve at the strip. My Gtech showed me runing a 13.18 @ 108 in my E46 M3. At the strip, 13.6 @ 104. Funny how that works...try it before you nok it hotshot.... the program was dead accurate on my old car... plus its been proven by a buncha folks to be within a tenth on time and a mph on trap.....

Guess we don't need dragstrips, just iphones.
I'll run the program on my E92 tomorrow, I'm busy getting hammered right now.

I agree that the program is a tool to get you an idea "Ball Park", but going to the strip is the only way.... Since this is not a drag car, and you find your self with crapy 60', your trap speed will tell it all. Unless your drag racing against someone else, your E.T isnt that important, it just shows your driving skills. The trap speed will tell what your car is capable of and anyone trapping 116 at the track = a 11'sec car bottom line, its all in the launch from there.
My time slip as you can see the car on the left ran a 11.8@ 112 its all in the first 60' I am the car on the right..

I got 12.7 with a 1.9 60 foot. Anyway, I'm going to a different track (Famoso, Bakersfield) so I can get better numbers on par with some of the faster strips out there.
swamp2 wroteJust out of curiousity have you ever compared a manual and a DCT on the same scale on the same day?All depends on how you count.

Everyone except you has gotten much higher weights for it. BMW quotes a larger difference than 30 pounds for the tranny. Either way, I am going to go by their figures as I don't know how accurate your scale is and I did not see any figures from a manual car.
I personally hope the DCT is not much heavier, but we are not going to see a DCT car under 3500 pounds.
Once again the only problem I think the DCT guys will have in this venue is going to be warming up the tires.. I already figured out how to do it with my 6mt. With that said my 6mt will destroy a DCT car that cannot warm up its tires (equipped with DR's). Launch control still has way to much wheel spin for my taste.. Anyhow its good to see guys playing around and have fun in their cars.

DCT launch control works extremely well when it has traction. At which point, the 6MT can't win. Not to mention destroying a 6MT any time not running from a stop.
I would love to race your car, but I dont street race... We'll just have to compare time slips back and forth..
eagletangogreen wrotePick up a Vbox, that way we can compare 60-130 numbers by GPS, comparing slips from various tracks in different parts of the country is pointless if we aren't there on the same day.I would love to race your car, but I dont street race... I can tell you I ran a stock 6MT, pulled it surprisingly easily.
