GregW / Oregon wrote Are your comments subjective or objective? It's tough, for instance, to find comparative test reports on the Vredesteins. Best I've found is European user reports whcih seem to place them near equal to the PS2s. The PSSs, however, are shaping up to meet Michelin's assertions that they are a step above the PS2s in several areas, but there isn't a large enough data base or test reports yet to say for sure. I have owned a lot of those tires minus the PSS and AD08, but we have set up customer cars with all the above tires, so therefore I have my experiences with them along with the clients.
My findings are objective.
On a subjective standpoint, I like Michelin and Bridgestone over most others, but subjectivity is not important in this case.
One thing I do not like about the Michelin PS2 on the M3 is the fact that the sidewall is a little soft, but its to the point that it creates a tremendous amount of wheel/axle hop. In fact, its devastatingly violent with these tires. Interestingly enough, many have complained about wheel hop on their E9X cars and thought it might be the chassis design, but for my case current and previous, with other much more powerful cars, the PS2's are a "hoppy" tire if we are talking about ripping out of the hole. This is where I tend to like the Bridgestone better, but most Bridgestones (except RE-11) are super heavy. This is commonly why I have found that their sidewalls are so stiff and don't have the tendency to give as much as the Michelin's.
I am very excited about the PSS tires. I can't wait to try them soon enough.
